2025 Issy-Les-Moulineaux – Trikala: Europe’s Living Lab for Smarter, Greener, Healthier Cities
Trikala, the first Digital City in Greece and a member of the EU Mission “100 Climate Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030”, has become a European Living Lab for testing innovative solutions in real-life conditions. Through its municipal company, e-Trikala S.A., the city has participated in more than 50 EU projects, developing applications that directly improve citizens’ daily lives. This presentation showcases three flagship initiatives: ELABORATOR (inclusive and sustainable mobility), IN2CCAM (connected and automated mobility), and TwinAIR (indoor air quality and health). Together, they demonstrate how Trikala integrates smart technologies and citizen engagement to create safer, greener, and healthier urban environments, offering insights and inspiration for other European cities.
