Biography

Thanasis Korakis was born on December 4, 1972 in Ioannina, Greece. He obtained the Bachelor and the M.S. degree in Informatics and Telecommunications from University of Athens, Greece, in 1994 and 1997 respectively. He obtained the Ph.D. degree in Computer and Communication Engineering from University of Thessaly, Greece in 2005. Dr. Korakis is currently an Associate Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of University of Thessaly. Before that, he was a Research Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of New York University, Tandon School of Engineering. His research interests are in the field of wireless networks and its applications He is the director of the Network Implementation Testbed Laboratory (NITLAB) of University of Thessaly. He has published more than 160 publications in peer review conferences and journals and he holds 5 US patents.
