Biography

Professor Dr. Panos Fitsilis is a full Professor at the Business Administration Dept. of the University of Thessaly, Greece., and academic coordinator of the module “Software Design” at Hellenic Open University.  He is as well, the Director of “Management, Research and Educational Skills Research Lab (MANDEIS lab).

Prof. Fitsilis has extensive project management experience with the development and deployment of large IT systems and extensive management experience in various senior management positions.

He has worked on more than 60 research or commercial IT projects, in various roles (programmer, project manager, quality engineer, BU manager, and consultant). He is the author of seven books and he recently published  the books ”Agile Project Management” (2022), “Smart Cities Body of Knowledge” (2021), “Contemporary Business Information Systems, 2nd edition” (2019). He was the editor of a collective volume “Building on Smart Cities Skills and Competences“ published by Springer-Nature and the author of more than 100 papers published at scientific journals and international conferences.

His research interests include Smart Cities, Smart Factories (Industry 4.0), Business Information Systems, Social Systems, Educational Technology, Software Project Management, etc.
