Biography

Graduated in Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Milan. – GIS Expert – Since 1991 he has worked at the City of Milan where he now holds the position of Head of GIS and City Toponymy Manager within the Technological and Digital Innovation Department. He deals with procedures for the analysis of tax avoidance and evasion phenomena through the use of location intelligence and GIS tools. He has followed several projects from “Smart City” to “EXPO in the City.” As responsible for the Milan Geo Knowledge Discovery and Urban Observatory Project for Milan,  he has provided training within ReteComuni to Local Government technicians on issues related to GIS application in urban environment, with particular emphasis on cadastral issues. He has been a lecturer in the university environment in Turin at Level II Masters courses related to Real Estate and Cultural Activities Management. In 2013 he won the Innovative Services Award with “BI dashboard for the analysis of avoidance and evasion in the Municipality of Milan.” In 2014 he received the eGovernment Award for “Champions of Reuse in Back Office and Support category” and the 2014 Innovative Services Award with “Security Dashboard – Risk Map of the Municipality of Milan.” In 2015 he won the “Smart City 2015” Award for “Risk Map and Monitoring Dashboard for Milan Municipality Activities” and the “Special Achievement in GIS Award Winners in July 2015 – ESRI UC 2015 – San Diego CA USA“. In 2016 he won the “Best Practice in Public Administration Award for “Geographic Information and Privacy Management”. He carried out a support mission in Amatrice following the 2016 earthquake and several activities alongside the Civil Defense. Since 2018, he has been following the City’s Digital Twin project as Head for the City of Milan. He participates in numerous national and international conferences and seminars: in 2020,2021 and 2022 he participates in the Smart City Exhibition World in Barcelona presenting the Multisensor Terrestrial and Aerial Survey project of the Milan metropolitan area. In 2023, at the PWX Conference organized by the American Public Works Association in San Diego he represents the City of Milan presenting the Geoworks project for the automation of paperless procedures for public way and subsurface permits.
