Digital infrastructures and platforms: a new scenario for cloud-centred regional marketplaces

Following the national cloud strategy and adoption, and the NextGenEU Recovery Plan initiatives, government digital platforms have radically changed in the past months in Italy.

The Tuscany Region has been offering digital services since the early 2000s, it shifted from the original datacenter to a cloud-based platform in 2016 with a public tender, and is now working towards the creation of an applications and IT providers marketplace at the regional level, by leveraging common digital assets and thus allowing common user interfaces in digital public services across Tuscany.
