2025 Issy-Les-Moulineaux – AI governance in the local public sector
AI adoption in the UK is increasing, but many councils lack governance frameworks for ethical or responsible implementation. Research shows over 75% of councils lack AI policies, and more than a third allow AI usage without guidance. To address this, Socitm has published sample governance documents to help councils establish safe and effective AI usage.
