Major Cities of Europe evolves into MCE Community – Cities and Regions for Innovation
The European organization Major Cities of Europe (MCE) has undertaken a strategic renewal of its identity, rebranding as MCE Community – Cities and Regions for Innovation, marking a new era for cooperation among cities and regions across Europe.
This change reflects the expansion of the organization’s mission—from a knowledge and sharing network for major cities to an open collaborative community of cities and regions, with a strong focus on innovation, digital transformation, sustainable development and citizens’ engagement. Leading and managing the transformative potential of emerging technologies, such as AI and robotics, require strong collaboration among cities and regions.
The new name, MCE Community – Cities and Regions for Innovation, expresses the organization’s transformation from a knowledge-exchange network into a dynamic European community of cooperation, sharing a common vision for the creation of modern, resilient, and innovative cities and regions.
The rebranding project was undertaken and completed by the MCE Board of Directors in close collaboration with Alpha Marketing, implementing the entire process—from strategic planning and analysis of the organization’s core values, to the design of the new visual identity, logo, brand guidelines, and the communication plan promoting the new era of MCE Community.
This collaboration was carried out over a one-year period, with the active participation of the organization’s members and consultation with cities and regions from across Europe, ensuring that the new identity collectively reflects the shared vision and values of the community.
